A transferable course is a course taken at one college or university that can be used for credit at another institution. Transferable courses may be used for major preparation, general education, or elective credit. Lists of transferable courses in ASSIST do not indicate how the courses can be used to fulfill subject matter requirements.
To see how a course might be used to fulfill a specific subject matter requirement, refer to an articulation agreement or an IGETC or CSU GE-Breadth list. ASSIST includes two reports that show transferable courses, one for UC and one for CSU.
To see transferable courses, start by choosing a community college.
